Welcome to the Washington DC Area Geriatric
Education Center Consortium

Our purpose is to improve the health, quality of life, and potential of older persons, particularly those in underserved areas. We provide education and training to health care professionals. Our learners include the disciplines of: medicine, nursing, social work, physical therapy, occupational therapy, health administration, nutrition, psychology, expressive arts therapy, clergy, and others. A person-centered approach, which incorporates learning through the arts and humanities, is a key component of the curriculum.
